运行方式
同步电机的主要运行方式有三种,即作为发电机、电动机和补偿机运行。
作为发电机运行是同步电机较主要的运行方式。
同步电机
作为电动机运行是同步电机的另一种重要的运行方式。同步电动机的功率因数可以调节,在不要求调速的场合,应用大型同步电动机可以提高运行效率。小型同步电动机在变频调速系统中开始得到较多地应用。
同步电机还可以接于电网作为同步补偿机。这时电机不带任何机械负载,靠调节转子中的励磁电流向电网发出所需的感性或者容性无功功率,以达到改善电网功率因数或者调节电网电压的目的。
同步电动机工作时,定子的三相绕组中通入三相对称电流,转子的励磁绕组通入直流电流。在定子三相对称绕组中通入三相交变电流时,将在气隙中产生旋转磁场。在转子励磁绕组中通入直流电流时,将产生极性恒定的静止磁场。若转子磁场的磁极对数与定子磁场的磁极对数相等,转子磁场因受定子磁场磁拉力作用而随定子旋转磁场同步旋转,即转子以等同于旋转磁场的速度、方向旋转,这就是同步电动机的基本工作原理。

伺服电机的控制精度由电机轴后端的旋转编码器保证。以力士乐全数字式交流伺服电机为例,对于带标准2000线编码器的电机而言,由于驱动器内部采用了四倍频技术,其脉冲当量为360°/8000=0.045°。对于带17位编码器的电机而言,驱动器每接收131072个脉冲电机转一圈,即其脉冲当量为360°/131072=0.0027466°,是步距角为1.8°的步进电机的脉冲当量的1/655。
